Hey! In this Helpout, I want to work with you to help develop your funny ideas for the Internet. I want this to be a highly tailored and customizable experience (so you should have an idea already in mind before you reach out) where you can bring your video sketch, web series, Tumblr, Twitter account, McSweeney's-style essay, or whatever and we can brainstorm on it together. Whether you know exactly what you want to do with it or are stalling out and need a pair of unbiased ears, I'm your guy. It's tailored to your needs, so it would be best to message me ahead of time with your pitch and your needs so we hit the ground running.
On this Helpout, I can help you out with:
Additionally, if you need tips on script or story structure, advice on directing actors, or want to hear about anything else germane to Internet comedy, let me know and I'm happy to help you with it.

I found this Helpout incredibly helpful. I left with insightful, creative ideas to take my essay to the finish line, as well as a solid direction to steer the blog I am working on.
One thing I loved about this is that David worked with me beforehand, too, providing initial feedback on the 2 projects I wanted to discuss. The session was really well structured. We covered all the points I was looking for feedback/ideas on, and I was very happy with the end result.
David truly goes above and beyond for his students.

David is top notch and I highly recommend him. I'm a former student of his from Second City and remained in contact with him after the classes were over. David is very straight forward (which I love), knows his stuff, and can help you realize the potential that you have. I'll continue to be talking with David and creating awesomeness.

David is incredibly knowledgeable and willing to structure the Helpout around specific needs for the individual student. As a writer trying to start my career, I found his advice particularly helpful because he's been there. He's an experienced freelance writer and knows how to build industry contacts, how to develop interesting content, and how to pitch and market that content.
I also took David's classes at The Second City in Chicago, and I found them to be more helpful than any of the other classes I've taken there and even more helpful than the majority of college courses I took at The University of Illinois for my English degree. He's excellent at fostering creativity in students and, more importantly, he is good at motivating students and showing that creative endeavors are worthwhile.
I'd strongly recommend David's Helpout whether you want to start a writing project, jump a hurdle or get motivated on a project you've already started, or just learn more about the field of freelancing.
